Chamber Announces Teacher Grants
The Carmi Chamber of Commerce announced the recipients of the Fall 2018 teacher grants in the Carmi White County School District Thursday afternoon.
The winners of the $300 grants were selected by the Chamber’s Education Committee and approved during the September Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meeting.
The recipients are Sarah Richards of Jefferson Attendance Center who polans to use her grant money for tablets for A.R. testing.
Adam Cross, of Carmi White County High will use his money for classroom supplies for biology, horticulture and Ag Science class.
Erica Zieren of the high school, plans to use her grant for technology pieces for science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
Katie Simmons of Carmi White County Junior High will purchase a Google home Device for the 7th and 8th grade.
Anna York, Washington Attendance Center will use her grant for a voice booster amplifiers for the classrooms.
Lauren Higginson, Executive Director of the Carmi Chamber said the chamber was pleased to provide these grants to help further the education of students in the Carmi White County School District.
