Carmi woman arrested following traffic stop Tuesday

Carmi Police took a theft report from Jordan McWhirter Tuesday morning.  McWhirter reported that sometime last week, someone broke into his storage unit in East Carmi and stole an Insignia home surround sound system.

Tuesday night, a traffic stop by Carmi Police led to the arrest of a Carmi woman.  19 year old Cierra Doherty was a passenger in vehicle pulled over at West Main and College Boulevard.  A records check showed that Doherty was wanted on a White County warrant for theft under $500 and was taken into custody at 7:25 pm.  Doherty was transported to the White County Jail and later released after posting a $150 bond.  The driver, 21 year old James Parker was cited for operating a vehicle with an expired registration.
