Title:When all else fails: What to do when nothing seems to help your child’s misbehavior.
Your child won’t listen but nothing seems to work. You’ve tried everything…talking, time-out, spanking, grounding, taking things away…but he/she continues to misbehave!!!! Your frustration is to the boiling point, and you’ve even wondered whether it’s too late to “send them back” for refund!!! No worries…Dr. Handwerk has tactics and strategies that can help you regain control, increase compliance, and restore positive family relationships.

Dr. Handwerk is currently the Coordinator of Outpatient Behavioral Health for Harrisburg Medical Center and has a full-time practice at Eldorado Primary Care where he sees children, adolescents, and their families. Prior to returning to Illinois in 2007, he was the Director of Clinical Services, Research, and Internship Training at Father Flanagan’s Boys’ Home (Boys Town) in Omaha, NE. He has published over 30 articles and chapters on the assessment and treatment of childhood/adolescent problems. He sees children and families with a variety of problems including oppositional behavior, ADHD, depression, and anxiety.
Youth ages 14 and up are welcome to attend and participate in youth activities.
CWC School District will provide professional development hours.
Snack and childcare will be provided.
