52 year old Minnie Anderson of Cora Avenue in Carmi was arrested late Friday by Carmi Police and is charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery. The incident report alleges Anderson was intoxicated and had battered and choked her father, 71 year old Jewel Appleton. Officers say they also knew Anderson had an active White County warrant stemming from a Failure to Appear on a Driving While License Revoked charge. Anderson was therefore arrested for the warrant in addition to the Aggravated Domestic Battery charge she’ll face.
Jeremy Blair of Stevan Street in Carmi reported to Carmi Police on Saturday morning the back window of his Ford Explorer was busted out WHILE he was driving at about a quarter till 5am on Stewart near Schumaker Street. Two white males, one age 26 and one age 30 is also mentioned in the report, with no indication as to whether they are suspects, witnesses or otherwise. The investigation is ongoing in that criminal damage to property complaint.
