Carmi Teen Busted for Leaving Scene of Crash
A Carmi teen is facing multiple charges after he crashed Friday night, causing local police to shut down a portion of Main Street and City Crews having to repair a downed power pole.
Tylor E. Taylor, 19 of 848 County Road 750 East, Carmi is facing charges of improper lane usage, leaving the scene of an accident, illegal transportation of alcohol, illegal consumption/possession of alcohol by a minor and zero tolerance.
While details of the crash are vague, the incident report notes Taylor crashed into the pole between 11 and 11:30 Friday night.
Taylor posted $150 cash bond and paid a $20 booking fee Saturday morning and was released from custody.
The crash caused a portion of Main Street between Seventh and Ninth Street to be closed for some time as crews dealt with the downed power lines and poles across Main and College Bvld. College Bvld., was also closed at Main Street while crews cleaned up the mess.
