Carmi Police took reports of stolen items on Tuesday morning. Burnace Germany reported at 10:51 am that sometime overnight, someone broke into his apartment on Abelson Drive and stole a Direct Express card and a Banterra Bank debit card.
At 11:10 am, Nikki Jonas reported that overnight someone stole her son’s blue and white 20 inch Ambush bike from her yard on Sixth Street.
Curtis Robertson reported that overnight someone stole a blue, orange, and white 20 inch Torah bicycle from his front yard on Ninth Street.
Two Norris City men were arrested by Carmi Police following a traffic stop just before 7 pm on outstanding warrants.
23 year old Justin Raney was taken into custody on White County warrants for failure to appear on a charge of possession of a firearm without a FOID card, possession of drug paraphernalia, and DUI of alcohol.
Another passenger in the car, 19 year old Christain Collier initially gave police a false identity, but when it was determined who Collier really was, it was found that he was wanted in Saline County on two counts of criminal sexual abuse. He was additionally charged with obstructing identification.
Both Raney and Collier were transported to the White County Jail, where both are being held pending posting bond.
