Carmi Police Make Weekend Arrests of Rogers and Miller

38-year-old Albert Rogers of Crossville is due in court Monday morning.  Carmi Police arrested him just after midnight Saturday on a warrant for Burglary, Theft over $500, and Criminal Damage to Property according to the report.  Rogers was the passenger in a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Betty Griffin.  She was pulled over at 12:36am for having only one functioning headlight.  Griffin was cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  Rogers had three felony cases in 2024 including a September incident in which he pled guilty to Aggravated Battery of a Victim aged 60+.  In return, charges of Home Invasion and Criminal Trespass to a Residence with a Person Present were dismissed.  In that case, Rogers was given a 6 month stayed jail sentence and 2 years of probation.  In March of last year, the state declined to prosecute Rogers on charges of Theft and Unlawful Possession of another’s Debit/Credit Card.  In April of last year, Rogers was arrested on a slew of charges.  He agreed in May to a plea deal convicting him on charges of Possession of Meth and Aggravated Fleeing while 7 other charges were dismissed.  He was sentenced to 2 years of probation, fined, ordered into drug treatment and to pay restitution while given a 6 month stayed jail sentence.  In August of last year, that jail stay was rescinded and Rogers was to spend 6 months behind bars.
