Carmi Police were called Tuesday afternoon to an apartment on Sixth Street in reference to a domestic incident. There, 31 year old Seth Perry of Carmi was arrested after he was found to be in violation of an order of protection. Perry was transported to the White County Jail, and was later released after posting a $150 bond.
Just before 5 pm Tuesday, Carmi Police and the White County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call about a fight that was taking place in front of the 5th Street Market. The victim signed a complaint against 33 year old Michael Smith of Carmi, who had fled the scene. An Illinois State Trooper later located Smith on Sycamore Street and took him into custody at 5:20 pm. Smith is being held at the White County Jail in lieu of a $150 bond.
