Carmi Police arrested 19 year old Taryann Browning of Carmi Friday afternoon after a traffic stop on Sycamore Street.
Browning was pulled over at 2:10 pm and taken into custody for driving a vehicle with plates from another vehicle. She has been charged with improper use of registration, and was also cited for possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no insurance. She was transported to the White County Jail, and later released after posting a $150 bond.
Saturday morning, Carmi officers took a report of theft. Robert Stull of Carmi reported that sometime Friday or early Saturday morning, someone stole a purple and blue Roadmaster bicycle from the porch of his residence on Fifth Street.
Monday afternoon, Carmi Police arrested 57 year old Joseph Smith of Carmi on a charge of domestic battery after receiving a report of a domestic incident. Officers arrived at Smith’s Oak Street residence at 1:44 pm and took Smith into custody. He is being held at the White County Jail without bond pending a court hearing.
