A traffic stop Wednesday night resulted in the arrest of a Fairfield man by Carmi Police following a foot chase.
40 year old James H Earl was apprehended following a brief pursuit after he exited a vehicle he was a passenger in after officers pulled the car over at the intersection of Rice and Ratcliff Streets just after 6pm. Earl was wanted on a Department of Corrections warrant for violating parole.
Following his arrest, Earl was additionally charged with resisting a police officer and illegal transportation of alcohol by a passenger.
Earl was transported to the White County Jail, where he is being held without bail pending a court hearing.
34 year old Daniel Lemmons of Carmi was arrested by Carmi Police Wednesday night at 10:32pm following a traffic stop at Stewart and Jessup Streets for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lemmons was also charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Lemmons was taken to the White County Jail, and is being held without bond pending a court appearance.
