Carmi Police make three arrests Thursday and Friday

Carmi Police arrested 26 year old Shela Brewster of Carmi Thursday morning at the intersection of Sycamore and Seventh Streets for violating an order of protection.  Brewster was taken into custody at 9:01 am and during a search, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance, and in possession of a look-alike substance with intent to deliver.

Brewster was transported to the White County Jail and is being held without bail pending a court hearing.

Just before 8 pm Thursday, 29 year old Phillip Burton of Carmi was arrested at Washington Attendance Center on a White County warrant for theft under $500.  Burton was later released from the White County Jail after posting a $150 bond.

Early Friday morning, 26 year old James Gerard of Carmi was arrested in the Walmart parking lot on a White County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of driving while license suspended.  Gerard was taken into custody at 1:11 am and is being held at the White County Jail in lieu of a $500 bond.
