Carmi Police arrested 26 year old Misty McFarland Monday afternoon on a White County warrant for failure to appear on a forgery charge. McFarland was found hiding in a closet in a residence at 800 Smith Street. McFarland had to be removed from the closet by officers after refusing to exit, and was transported to the White County Jail just after 2 pm. She is being held in lieu of a $500 bond.
26 year old Alyssa Rivera of Carmi was arrested following a traffic stop in the 1300 block of W Main Street by Carmi Police for driving on a suspended license. Rivera was pulled over at 6:38 pm and was additionally charged with operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. Rivera was processed at the White County Jail, and was released after posting a $150 bond.
46 year old Rita Trabant of Carmi was arrested by Carmi Police following a traffic stop on Oak Street at7:35 pm. Trabant was a passenger in the vehicle and was known to be wanted on a White County warrant for theft under $500. A search found a glass pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine, and Trabant was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. She is currently being held without bond at the White County Jail pending a court hearing.
