Carmi Police Make Retail Theft, Drug, And Warrant Arrests Thursday

A 56 year old Harrisburg woman is lodged in the White County Jail as of Friday morning on theft and drug charges. Ladonna M. Cissna was spotted by employees of the Dollar General Store in Carmi, Thursday afternoon, stuffing items in her purse and exiting the store without paying. Carmi Police were called and found $42 worth of unpaid merchandise in Cissna’s purse along with a pipe with meth in it. She was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, as well as misdemeanor charges of retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dustin L. Acord, 37, of 310 Shipley Street in Carmi is being held in the White County Jail as of Thursday morning on two White County Failure to Appear warrants on charges of criminal trespass and domestic battery. Carmi Police officers received a call about a woman screaming for help at 310 Shipley Street. On the way, they spotted Acord on a bike about a block away. Knowing he was wanted and lived at 310 Shipley, police followed him and advised him to stop. Acord refused and returned to the trailer, telling officers he was not going to jail. Police pointed a taser at Acord, who in turn punched a washing machine which was sitting in the yard, and then surrendered without incident. Bond was set at $1,000 cash.
