The Carmi Police Department arrested a Harrisburg woman on Monday afternoon after Dollar General employees noticed evidence of drug use in a bathroom.
32 year old Amy Lane was stopped south of Carmi on Route 1 after employees noticed the evidence at 12:41pm. While speaking with Lane, the arresting officer noticed a syringe on her person. A subsequent search found four hypodermic needles, two of which contained a liquid Lane said was hydrocodone. Lane was transported to the White County Jail and has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of hypodermic needles, possession of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held without bond pending a court hearing.
Monday evening, Carmi Police arrested 27 year old Sarah Quertermous at her James Avenue residence for failure to appear on a charge of operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Officers placed Quertermous into custody at 5:21pm and took her to the White County Jail, where she was released after posting a $375 cash bond.
