A Crossville man on probation for Class 3 Felony drug charges is back behind bars following his arrest Monday afternoon. It was just after 3pm when Carmi Police were called to the probation office. There, they say they found 28-year-old Logan Ray in possession of meth, a glass meth pipe, along with a device used to defraud a urine screening and a bag containing urine. Ray was arrested back in November of 2023 on meth charges among other offenses. He would agree to a plea deal and was given 2 years probation, a 6 month stayed jail sentence, fined, ordered into drug treatment, and ordered to perform 30 hours of community service. His new charges include Possession of Meth, Obstructing Justice, Violation of Probation, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Use of Property.
Earlier in the day, Carmi Police were called to 112 Iris where they arrested 35-year-old Matthew Barnes for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Barnes had allegedly been staying at the residence since February 21st and hadn’t registered. He was most recently registered in Randolph County and listed as homeless. The arrest happened just before noon.
Just before 9:30am, Carmi Police were at the probation office for 49-year-old Michelle Willis, now of Benton. Willis faced charges in October of 2020 related to possession of meth. She agreed to a plea deal at the time. Online court records show based on the violation of probation, she’ll now serve up to 6 months behind bars.
