Carmi Police make arrests; are investigating vandalism

51 year old Kevin Foley of Carmi surrendered to Carmi Police Friday evening on a White County warrant for deceptive practice. Foley was taken into custody at 6:05 pm and was later released after posting a $150 bond.

A Crossville man was arrested by Carmi Police Saturday evening following a traffic stop at the intersection of Oak and 8th Streets.  34 year old Zachary Schneider was found to be driving on a suspended license, and was transported to the White County Jail.  He was later released after posting a $150 bond.

Sunday morning, Carmi Police took several reports of properties facing the alley between the 700 block of 1st and 2nd Streets and trash cans in the 100 block of Shipley Street vandalized using pink spray paint.  Officers are reviewing security camera footage to aid finding a suspect.

Sunday afternoon, 44 year old James Welch of Carmi was arrested for DUI and cited for illegal squealing of tires at 4:40 pm.  Welch was transported to the White County Jail and was later released after posting a $100 bond.

Monday afternoon, Jerry Russell of Carmi reported to Carmi Police that someone had stolen the rear license plate of his vehicle.

A Monday night traffic stop by Carmi Police at the intersection of Sycamore and 5th Streets led to the arrest of 35 year old Charles Harris of Carmi on a White County warrant for violation of an order of protection at 8:57 pm.  Harris was transported to the White County Jail and was later released after posting a $500 bond.  Also in the vehicle was 37 year old Angela Bartley of Carmi, who was cited for possession of less than 10 grams of cannabis.
