Carmi Police Chief Says One Man Wanted; Others May Follow

It’s now been about 6 weeks since a shelter at Burrells Woods in rural Carmi was vandalized.  Police Chief Jason Carter says a warrant was issued for Zachary Thaxton in late August for Criminal Damage to State Supported Property Valued at more than $500.  Carter says the department believes Thaxton is living in Saline County and that has made serving the warrant troublesome.  Once captured, Thaxton will have bond set at $2,000 cash.  Carter does believe more warrants are possible to emerge following the early August incident.

At last check there were up to 4 individuals of interest including the driver of an orange Pontiac G6 that was seen on video leaving the scene of the crime.
