Carmi Police busy over long weekend

Carmi Police arrested 30 year old Adam Hoover of Carmi on a White County warrant for residential burglary and theft Friday night.  Hoover was taken into custody just after 8:30 pm and transported to the White County Jail, where he is being held on a $10,000 bond.

Saturday morning, 26 year old Alyssa Rivera of Carmi was arrested following a traffic stop.  Rivera was pulled over at 5:12 am at the intersection of Kerney and Slocumb Streets and was taken into custody on a charge of driving on a suspended license.  Rivera was released from the White County Jail after posting a $150 bond.

 

Saturday afternoon, Lars Gentry reported to Carmi Police that someone had damaged a fence at his residence.  Gentry observed tire tracks in the snow, and told officers that the damage had occurred between 1 am and 6:30 am Saturday.

Early Sunday morning, 30 year old Joseph James of Carmi was arrested on a White County warrant for a probation violation.  James was taken into custody just after 2:30 am and is being held at the White County Jail in lieu of a $2500 bond.

Sunday morning, Carmi Police along with the White County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at 206 Olive Street at 6:35 am after information was received about drugs located in the residence. Two residents, 32 year old Amanda Ball and 31 year old Timothy James were each arrested on charges of use of property to violate the methamphetamine control act, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Ball and James were transported to the White County Jail and are being held pending a court appearance.

Monday night, Carmi Police responded to a traffic accident on Paint Creek Lane just after 9:30 pm.  The driver, 36 year old Miranda Hale of Carmi showed signs of intoxication and was found to be in possession of a large quantity of prescription medication.  Hale was arrested for DUI of drugs and alcohol, possession of a controlled substance, and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.  She is being held at the White County Jail pending a court hearing.
