During a separate call for service, a Carmi Officer identified Beverly Newman, who was known for an active White County Warrant for Obstructing Justice, Reckless Driving, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Newman was promptly arrested and transported to the White County Jail. She was later released, with a first appearance scheduled for April 10th at 9:30 am.
Later in the day, around 3 pm, Crystal Borne was pulled over by the Carmi Police. The officer noticed that the registration did not match the vehicle she was driving, which led to her arrest for Unlawful Display of Registration. Borne was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle while registration was suspended.
