Carmi Police received a call for service at 12:42 am Wednesday morning to 604 Schumaker Street, and arrested 35 year old Anthony Bennett of Chicago after an altercation. Bennett has been charged with resisting a police officer, battery, obstructing justice, obstructing information, being a sex offender in a prohibited place, and a Vanderburgh County, Indiana warrant for failure to register as a sex offender.
Bennett was transported to the White County Jail, where he is being held without bond pending a court appearance.
Also arrested at the scene was 19 year old Brittany McDonald of Carmi on a Wabash County warrant for failure to appear. McDonald was also transported to the White County Jail and is being held in lieu of a $300 bond.
