The Carmi White County High School Maroon Platoon and Student Council will be presenting the 2019 Homecoming Parade on Friday, September 20, 2019 beginning at 9:45 am. The parade will begin along 9th Street at the rear of the CWC Junior Senior High School. The parade will continue down 9th to the Alley just South of Oak Street and turn West toward 10th Street. The parade will then turn South onto 10th and continue to Lincoln Attendance Center to Fair Street. The parade will turn North on Fair Street and continue to the intersectin of Fair and 11th Street where they will be completing a U-Turn and continue back South on Fair Street to 10th Street. They will continue back along 10th Street to the Alley and turn East in the Alley and proceed to 9th Street. They will then turn South on 9th Street and proceed to Crebs Avenue and will then turn East onto Crebs Ave. They will proceed down Crebs to 7th and turn South onto 7th Street. They will proceed down 7th Street back to the rear parking lot entrance of the CWC Junior Senior High School.
The public is encouraged to line up along the parade route and participate in the Homecoming Parade by showing your Carmi White County School Spirit as the parade will end the homecoming week festivities for students. The public is also invited to attend the 2019 Football Homecoming game on Friday night at the Carmi White County Football field with the kickoff slated for 7:00 pm. Come cheer on your Carmi White County Bulldogs as they take on the Edwards County Lions.
All streets intersecting this parade route will be blocked beginning at 9:45 am and continue until it is safe to allow normal vehicular traffic to resume.
All intersections along the parade route will be manned with Carmi Police and Auxillary Officers and CWC School Volunteers who will assist in ensuring safety during the parade. The public is encouraged to be aware of this temporary restriction of streets intersecting the parade route and to adjust travel plans accordingly. The parade is expected to last approximately 1 hour.
