Carmi Police received a phone call from Crossville resident Margaret Kuykendall Friday afternoon.  She reported her vehicle was damaged and believes it occurred either while she was at Wabash Christian Village or Wal-Mart .  Her phone call to Police came in around a quarter till 4pm.

A bit later in the day, around 5pm, a Carmi Police officer was patrolling on Main Street when he observed 36 year old Shana Axton of Evansville walking.  The officer stopped Axton in the Dairy Queen parking lot and placed her under arrest knowing she was wanted on a Failure to Appear warrant for Driving While License Suspended.  Bond has been set at $575.  As of Monday morning, Axton remained behind bars.  She has a first appearance set for August 15th.

32 year old Tiffany Williford of Carmi is also behind bars at the White County jail as of Monday morning following her arrest Friday evening.  According to the Carmi PD report, Williford turned her self in on a probation violation warrant out of Madison County, Illinois.  She’s being held without bond.  Her arrest came around 7:45pm Friday evening.

Final action for the Carmi Police Department Friday came in the form of 42 year old Robert York of Locust Street in Norris City.  Police found York at a residence on Walnut Street in Carmi.  He was wanted on 3 warrants, 1 out of Saline County, another out of Effingham, and the last from Jasper County.  The Effingham warrant stems from a possession of meth charge.  It was issued in August of last year.  The Jasper County warrant appears to date back to 1997.

Carmi Police arrested a couple James Earl’s Saturday evening, beginning with 31 year old James Eli Earl at about a quarter after 7pm.  The Park Lane Carmi resident turned himself in to law enforcement on a Failure to Appear warrant from White County court.  The original charge was for theft of less than $300.  Earl bonded out to $200, plus a $20 booking fee and $75 failure to appear fee.

Just after 10pm Saturday, Carmi Police pulled over 43 year old James H Earl of Second Street at the corner of Sycamore and 2nd.  In addition to being cited for driving with an obstructed windshield, law enforcement found Earl was driving under the influence.  James H Earl also bonded out, but not until Monday morning.  He paid $100 plus a $20 booking fee to get out from behind bars.
