It was last Tuesday, April 22nd when Carmi Police received a report of a hit-and-run. The collision occurred in the 200 block of East Cherry Street just before 11am. On Friday, just before 3pm, officers say they found a vehicle matching the description and pulled the driver over. After matching the damage and investigating, officers placed 66-year-old Kevin Brown of 4th Street under arrest. He’s being charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Possession of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle, and also received citations for not having insurance. Brown was released with a notice to appear. He’s due in White County court on May 27th at 9am.
Just before 6:30pm Saturday, Carmi Police pulled over 47-year-old Kriste Ingram of Springerton. The traffic stop occurred on Burrell near Bob Martin Drive and was prompted due to an expired registration. Officers placed Ingram under arrest for Driving on a Suspended License. She was booked and subsequently released on Pre-Trial Release. Ingram is due in court on May 27th as well.
