Carmi Man Surrenders After Threat of K-9

Carmi Man Arrested after K-9 Threat

It took Carmi K-9 Officer Orest to rout a local man out of the Carmi motel as local police attempted to arrest him on outstanding warrants.

40 year old Jeremy Scott Allen, whose address was listed as 225 North Main Cross Street, Carmi, was arrested after Carmi police utilized Orest. According to the incident report released by Carmi Chief of Police Jason Carter, Allen would not exit his room so authorities could execute the warrants, until officers announced they would be turning Orest lose. As the veteran K-9 officer began to bark, Allen thought better of not coming out of the room and exited the room without further incident.

There were two warrants; one for domestic battery with prior aggravated battery; the other retail theft with prior possession of a stolen vehicle.

Bond on both warrants was set at $1500 for a total of $3,000.
Allen remained in custody this morning.
