A Carmi man will spend five years in prison following sentencing in White County Court on Wednesday.
States Attorney Denton Aud announced that 27 year old Matthew Gaudern received the prison term on two charges stemming from his April 11 arrest by the Carmi Police Department. Gaudern pled guilty to one count of possession of methamphetamine, and was sentenced to five years in DOC custody and one year of mandatory supervised release. As a result, Gaudern’s probation on an earlier charge of aggravated battery was revoked, and another five year sentence with one year of supervised release was handed down. The two sentences will run concurrently.
Gaudern was recommended for participation in the Impact Incarceration Program also known as boot camp.
