A 40 year old Carmi man, John P. McKay, was injured early (this) Wednesday morning in a motorcycle accident. According to Illinois State Police District 19, around 12:40 a.m., McKay was traveling northbound on US 45, approximately .25 miles north of Eldorado, when a deer entered the roadway. McKay was unable to avoid striking the deer. His 2007 Harley-Davidson Motorcycle overturned ejecting him. McKay was not wearing a helmet. He was transported to a local hospital and then by Air Evac to Regional Hospital in Evansville. District 19 Troopers were assisted by the Eldorado Police Department.
