
A Carmi man with five active cases in White County received his sentence Wednesday. The cases, which range from a Criminal Damage to Property charge handed down in March of 2024 to a New Years Eve arrest including charges of Aiding/Abetting/Possession/Selling a Stolen Vehicle, two counts of Criminal Damage to Property, and a count of Leaving the Scene and also includes a June of 2024 charge of Criminal Sexual Abuse of a Child (in which the victim was between the ages of 9 and 17) all reached their conclusion Wednesday. 19-year-old Talan Weber received a grand total of 2 years Conditional Discharge for both the Criminal Misdemeanor Sexual Abuse charge and the Stolen Vehicle charge while all remaining charges were dismissed as per the plea deal. Weber has a 6-month stayed jail sentence, was ordered to perform 30 hours of community service and drug treatment while given credit for 36 days of time served. Online court records also show that Weber has been ordered to pay restitution to the victim.
