A Carmi man was sentenced in White County Court on Thursday on charges of theft and possession of a controlled substance.
According to States Attorney Denton Aud, 38 year old Christopher Swango was sentenced to four years in prison and one year of mandatory supervised release on each count, and the sentences will run concurrently. In addition, Swango was ordered to pay all mandatory fines, fees, costs and assessments, as well as make restitution to his victim in the amount of $700.
The White County Sheriff’s Department arrested Swango on January 12th with assistance from the Carmi Police Department.
