A Carmi man is behind bars following a traffic stop early Saturday morning. Carmi officers pulled over 45 year old Crockett Wade in the 800 block of 5th Street at 3:36 am Saturday and charged him with aggravated battery, resisting a police officer, obstructing justice, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wade is being held at the White County Jail without bail pending a court hearing.
Sunday morning, Carmi Police received a theft report from William Tate, who stated that a bicycle had been stolen from his front porch on 1st Street. Tate said that the theft had occurred overnight.
