Carmi Police received an anonymous call for a welfare check Tuesday night that led to the arrest of a Carmi man on a domestic battery charge.
Police got the call at 7:10 pm to perform the check at 212 Webb Street. There, 47 year old Hershel Felty was taken into custody and transported to the White County Jail, where he is being held without bond pending a court hearing.
