Carmi Falls to Flora
It was another tough loss for the young Carmi White County High School baseball team, as they fell to Flora 7 to 3 Wednesday afternoon on the road.
Carmi scored two runs in the fifth inning and added another in the seventh. Not enough to match Flora’s four runs in the second, one in the third and two in the sixth.
Scoring for the Bulldogs; Blazier, Rankin and York, all with one run each.
Blazier, Williams and York shared pitching duties in the loss.
The locals are back in action today against the Fairfield Mules. Carmi White County played Fairfield earlier this week and lost, so the locals are looking for redemption in this afternoon’s game
Today’s Carmi-Fairfield matchup will be broadcast on our sister station, WRUL 97.3 FM. Jason Craig and Chris Lucas will have the game covered. They will be on the air around 4:15 or 4:20 for the pre-game show, before the 4:30 start of the game.
The Lady Bulldogs are also on the field today, as they play Fairfield, the second time this week.
The Lady Dawgs are also looking for a little payback, as they also lost to the Lady Mules earlier this week.
There is also a junior high track meet in Benton today. That meet had been scheduled for yesterday, but was moved to today.
