Carmi Council Meeting a Day Early
The Carmi City Council will meet a day earlier than normal for the council’s first meeting of November.
The meeting was moved to Monday afternoon at 5:30 due to Tuesday being Election Day. The meeting should be brief as there are just a few items on the agenda, including discussion and likely approval of Christmas bonuses for city employees. Those bonuses, if approved will be $60, plus $5 per year longevity for full time employees and a flat $60 for part time employees, fireman and EMA members. All of the bonus payments will be from the Carmi Light and Water Department.
Other business expected to be covered Monday include the routine matters such a approval of minutes and bills, along with reports from Mayor Jeff Pollard and the standing committees.
The Carmi Council normally meets the first and third Tuesday of each month, and the meetings are open to the public.
