Carmi City Council Agenda
The Carmi City Council will meet for the first of its two regular monthly meetings Tuesday afternoon at 5:30.
There are several items on the agenda, most relating to community celebrations. A representative of the Carmi Lions Club will ask the council for permission to close a portion of First Street, in front of the Lion’s Den, on November 10 from noon until 8 that day for a car show, as part of a planned Veteran’s Day celebration.
Lauren Higginson, executive director of the Carmi Chamber of Commerce will ask the council for permission to stage the White County Christmas Parade. Higginson will also seek approval of closing South Main Cross from Main Street to the Alley from November 15 through January 7. That location usually houses Santa’s Carmi headquarters.
The council will also be ask for support and commitment of local funds from the revolving loan fund.
The meeting will also include reports from Mayor Jeff Pollard and the standing committees.
