Carmi Chamber of Commerce Announces Grants to Teachers

 

The Carmi Chamber of Commerce has awarded $200 grants to each of the following teachers in the Carmi White County School District:

 

Melissa Dartt, Jefferson Attendance Center- Purchase of a Google Chromebook for her classroom.

 

Kim Owen, Lincoln Attendance Center- Purchase of flexible seating for her classroom.

 

Erin Pennington, Carmi-White County High School- Purchase of audio books and a CD/Cassette Player for English classes.

 

Erica Zieren, Carmi-White County High School- Purchase of supplies for the Geometry class to build a scale model of the high school as a class project.

 

Jill Roark, Jefferson Attendance Center- The grant will be used toward the resurfacing of students dry erase boards.

 

Suzy Tomm, Lincoln Attendance Center- Purchase supplementary items for reading/language arts, sensory massage roller, portable project cases and book bins.

 

 

The grant recipients were selected by the Chamber’s Education Committee and approved during the Board of Directors meeting on April 13, 2017.  The Carmi Chamber of Commerce is pleased to provide these grants to help further the education of students in the Carmi White County School District which are funded through proceeds from the Chamber’s annual Golf Tournament which will be held on June 24.
