Busy Weekend for Carmi Police

Police Reports

The Carmi Police Department Officers were also busy over the weekend, as they dealt with traffic violations, a traffic crash that resulted in a DUI and other matters.

This morning (mon) Mandy D. Cummins of 905 Smith Street, Carmi, reported someone had stolen change from the center console of her vehicle.

Sunday afternoon, Anna Marie Alzate, 27, of 225 N. Main Cross Street, Carmi was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license and operating an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop. Alzate posted bond at the scene and was released from custody following the 12:24 p.m. stop.

Saturday morning, Betty P Anderson of 706 Montgomery Circles, Carmi reported damage to her backyard fence.

Also Saturday morning, Jennifer L Adcock, 36, 312 W. Robinson Street, Carmi was cited for driving on a revoked license. She posted bond on scene and was released from custody.

Friday afternoon, Nicholas A Jennings, 34, 809 North Seventh Street, Carmi turned himself in on a White County warrant. He posted $500 cash bond and was released from custody.

 

Early Friday morning, Carmi police arrested Richard J Campbell, 24, Marion, Ill., on a charge of driving while under the influence.

That following the local police responding to a report of a single vehicle hitting a tree at 413 North First Street, here in Carmi. Upon arriving, officers found Campbell sitting in the front seat and there was a strong odor of alcohol. He admitted to being under the influence. Campbell was transported to Hamilton Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, as which time authorities continued the DUI investigation.l

Following Campbell’s release by the hospital, he was arrested and transported back to the City County Jail in Carmi. He was charged with DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Campbell posted $300 cash bond, prior to being released from custody.
