Busy Weekend for Carmi Police
Carmi Police had an extremely busy weekend including a response to a domestic dispute that involved a gun and a knife.
Arrested in that incident were Desiree J. Murdach, 22 and 18 year old Isabel M. Murdach, both of 105 W. Webb Street, Carmi. Officers arrived at the scene to find a gun and knife had been displayed during the altercation. No one was injured according to the incident report and the women, sisters were both in jail this morning. Desiree is facing aggravated domestic battery charges, while Isabell is facing domestic battery charges and an illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor charge.
Local police were assisted by the White County Sheriff’s Department and Illinois State Police.
Bond was expected to be set later Monday.
Local authorities responded to another domestic dispute Sunday morning around 4:15 and arrested Brandi l. Holland, 31 of 304 Church Street, Carmi.
Holland was charged with battery and domestic battery after she hit Tommy Coke and Tabitha Swango. Holland was intoxicated at the time of her arrest. Bond was set at $500 and she remained in custody early Monday.
In other weekend incidents; Celina J. Prince, 24, 168 Washington St., Maunie was arrested for retail theft and criminal damage to property following an incident at Dollar General, Carmi. She posted $150 bond and $20 booking fee and was released from custody following her Saturday morning arrest.
Police arrested Lonnie J. Duvall, 57, 711 N. Fifth Str. Carmi on a warrant for retail theft.
Duvall’s bond was set at $150.
Police arrested a Washington, Ind. woman, Angel D. (Boren) Newman shortly after 5 Sunday morning on a charge of driving on a suspended license. She posted $150 bond and was released from custody.
