Busy Meeting for NCOE School Board

 

The NCOE Board of Education held their meeting Wednesday evening in the Superintendent’s office. The minutes and the bills for the month were approved as presented.

During presentation of the Treasurer’s Report, Mr. Vollman reported all funds were in good standing. Mr. Vollman informed the board that the State has been sending the Evidence Based Funding on time and are receiving categorical payments. This has helped stabilize the funds and allows the district to stay on top of financial obligations.

Mr. Haley congratulated the high school cheerleaders on their first place win at the GEC. The high school will be having a play on March 8th and 9th.

At NCO the Jr. high basketball team finished a great season with 2nd place at State. Jr. high volleyball is halfway through their season. The History Fair was February 7th and Mr. Foster reported there were 50 student projects with 18 of those advancing to Regionals in March.

Mrs. Carter announced pre-k screenings would be March 13 and 14. Pre-k will continue to be a full day program next school year.

The Board voted to adopt several updated board policies.

The retirement request of Bruce Weiss, custodian at Booth, was accepted during the meeting.

In other business the Board:

– Let bids for mowing.

– Accepted the Work Plan for School Improvement
