The Bulldogs improved to 4-3 in conference play Friday night by earning a 44-38 win at Johnston City.
Ethan Mahon led coach Kevin Wolff’s ‘Dogs with 15 points, while Adam Phelps added 11, Peyton Edwards nine, Ty Barbre six and Devin Rankin three.
Goreville outlasted the Bulldogs 50-47 Saturday morning at the Rich Herrin Classic in Benton.
The ‘Dogs were led by Ethan Mahon’s 19 points, while Adam Phelps added 10, and Ty Barbre, Oakley Gee and Peyton Edwards six apiece.
Carmi will travel to Eldorado Tuesday.
Seven members of coach Terry Gholson’s Carmi-White County wrestling team participated in the Class 1A regional in Robinson Saturday.
Two of them, Gavin Brown and Blake Pollard, finished in the top four. Brown was fourth in the 132-pound weight class and will serve as an alternate for the upcoming sectional, as will Pollard, who placed fourth at 152.
Also wrestling for Carmi were Kit Harris at 138, Austin Wheeler at 182, Ethan Whetstone at 195, Matthew Woods at 220 and Jake Rider at heavyweight.
Mt. Carmel won the team standings, followed by Benton, Robinson, Harrisburg, Lawrenceville, Cumberland, Fairfield and Carmi-White County.
The sectional will take place this weekend in Carterville.
