Bulldogs Shut Out Mt. Carmel

The Carmi-White County Baseball team defeated Mt. Carmel on Monday afternoon in 5 innings by a final score of 10-0.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning on an RBI single by Mitchel Edwards, scoring Gavin Holloman.

Carmi then broke it open with 6 runs in the 3rd. A walk by Merick Millhorn, a double by Maxon O’Daniel, and a walk by Cade Allen loaded the bases with just one out, then the Bulldog bats came alive.

An RBI single by Hayden Sauls scored Abe Girten, an RBI single by Ty Hollingsworth scored Myles Barnett and Allen, an RBI single by Tyson Spicer scored Sauls, an RBI double by Travor Mason scored Spicer, and with the bases loaded again O’Daniel was hit by a pitch, scoring Mason and extending the Bulldogs’ lead to 7-0.

The Bulldogs plated two more in the 4th on RBI singles by Holloman and Millhorn, to make it 10-0 and Carmi would win by that score.

Merick Millhorn picked up the win on the mound, pitching all 5 innings and allowing 0 runs on just 3 hits with 2 strikeouts.
