Baseball Team Defeats Crab Orchard
The Carmi White County Bulldog baseball team finished up the regular season with a big win over Crab Orchard, winning 13 to 7.
Rankin and Mahon scored three times each for the “Dawgs.” Fulkerson scored twice, with Blazier, York, Atteberry, Berkshivlli, and Stubblefield adding a run each for the 13 runs. The Bulldogs scored twice in the first inning, four times in the third, once in the fourth ,and added two runs each in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.
Atteberry was credited with the win on the mound.
Dowes took the loss for Crab Orchard. Fry, Killman, along with N. Dowes and I Dowes scored for Crab Orchard. The visitors scored once in the third, four in the fourth, one in the fifth and a final run in the seventh inning.
The locals will be in action today as they open Regional play against Edwards County. That game will be broadcast live on WRUL 97.3 FM. Jason Craig and Chris Lucas will have the game covered. They will be on the air with pre-game stats around 4:15 or 4:20. If the Bulldogs win this afternoon, they will play Fairfield at 6:30 Wednesday and that game will also be carried on WRUL 97.3 FM.
The Lady Bulldogs start regional play today against Fairfield. If they win, they will play Edwards County at 4:30 tomorrow (Tuesday). That game will be carried on WRUL 97.3 FM. Lucas and Craig will also cover that game.
