Morgan Barton, Norris City, is the recipient of a $4,000 scholarship from the Illinois Farm Bureau Rural Nurse Practitioner Program.
The scholarship program helps encourage and develop the pool of rural health practitioners to help meet primary care needs in rural Illinois. Students who receive scholarships agree to practice in an approved rural county in Illinois.
The White County resident attends Graceland University, Lamoni, IA. She received her ADN at Southeastern Illinois College. Morgan received her BSN from Graceland University. She currently works for Deaconess Health System in Evansville, IN. She is a member of the American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA); member of the American Nurses Association (ANA); Indiana STEM volunteer; Illinois 4-H volunteer and prior leader in Hamilton County and an alumnus of the Norris City-Omaha-Enfield FFA Chapter
