A Saline County resident is in custody following an investigation into
two recent burglaries, that occurred at two county locations in the past week.
The first burglary occurred on March 19th at a residence, located at 875 College Road Eldorado.
Several firearms were taken from the residence. In all five (5) shotguns, one (1) rifle and one (1)
handgun were stolen.
The second burglary occurred on March 26th at the Little Chapel Church, located at 3859 Hwy 34
North in Harrisburg. In all, approximately $1400 in cash was taken as well as an I-Pad,
MacBook, a drawing device and a camera.
Deputies from the Saline County Sheriff’s Office followed up on several tips from the public.
The tips were made to the Sheriff’s Office, after of the description of the male suspect was
released from the surveillance video at Little Chapel Church. The investigation led to the arrest
of a Saline County resident.
In custody is Anthony E. Hobbs, 36, of Muddy and has been charged with the following:
– Burglary
– Theft Over $500
– Residential Burglary
– Aggravated Possession of Stolen Firearms
He remains in the Saline County Detention Center on $4000 bond.
“With the assistance of the public and their tips to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, we have
been able to quickly solve this case,” said Ken Clore Chief Deputy. In addition, we are working
with the Kentucky State Police that might resolve some additional crimes in both Southern
Illinois and Western Kentucky.
In addition, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Christopher L. Dennis, 38, of
Eldorado. Dennis is wanted for Violation of Probation.
