In an effort to help the public make informed decisions in the upcoming Consolidated Election April 4th, we at WROY/WRUL News asked candidates in the contested races for the City of Carmi to fill out a short questionnaire.
Keith Davis
Carmi Alderman Ward #4
- Tell us a little about yourself.
I was born and raised in Evansville, IN and moved to Carmi 17 years ago. My wife, Jane, and I will be married for 15 years in July. We have 2 adult children: Hope Davis, 26, who works as a program development manager for Bombshell Fitness and lives in Orlando and Jacob Dicus, 25, who is currently working for the University of Southern Indiana as program director for Greek Life.
I currently work at Dillman Services where I have been employed for the last 10 years. My wife has worked at First Bank for past 22 years.
Additionally, I have been Alderman of Ward 4 for the past four years and have enjoyed working with our Mayor, City employees and Council members to help our City and citizens.
- Why do you want to serve?
My main goal is to help our community grow and prosper by helping to attract new businesses and services to our city. I will also work diligently to help make improvement to our area.
- What are the biggest issues you see facing your desired position? How do you plan to address these issues?
Developing and adhering to our annual budget so that we can run as efficiently as possible.
I plan to continue reviewing overtime and inefficiencies within my department. I will work vigilantly with our council members, City officials and City employees so Carmi can flourish and our citizens can feel proud to say they are from Carmi.
- What sets you apart from the other candidates? Why should voters choose you on April 4th?
I feel I have a very good working relationship with City employees and Council members so that we can all work together to solve any problem that might arise. I hope to be re-elected to continue the progress of the City of Carmi to grow and expand.
