The White County Sheriff’s Department, Enfield Police Department, Carmi Police Department, and Norris City Police Department will be conducting an active shooter training drill at Booth Elementary School in Enfield during the afternoon hours of Friday, March 17th.
No students will be present at the school at the time of the drill, but school staff and administrators will be participating. White County Sheriff’s Deputy Randy Graves said that each agency will be practicing their respective duties, while school staff will practice school policy and lock down protocols should an emergency situation ever occur that requires a response.
The public is being notified in advance so you should not be alarmed by the presence of several law enforcement officers at Booth Elementary Friday afternoon, or hear calls via dispatchers via the radio frequency.
