99th Annual Meeting Held for White County Farm Bureau

The annual meeting of the White County Farm Bureau, held on Friday, January 24, marked the 99th annual gathering of the membership.

Larry Beck, President of the White County Farm Bureau, welcomed around 70 members and guests to the meeting.

The business meeting included approval of last year’s minutes, financial reports, membership report, Manager’s Report, affiliate reports, updates on the Young Leader Committee, Ag in the Classroom (AITC), and Illinois Farm Bureau.

Larry Beck retired as President of the organization. Current Vice President, Bryce Williams, was elected to succeed Beck. Beck will stay on the board as Vice President. Jeff Young of Grayville was re-elected to serve his second term as Secretary-Treasurer. All three officers will serve a one-year term.

Members also elected four district directors… Tate Collins of Carmi was elected to serve in District 1; Brad Gates of Carmi was re-elected for another term in District 2; Ryan Williams of Carmi was re-elected to another term in District 3; and Vance Burzynski of Norris City was re-elected to serve as the At-Large Director. All four will serve three-year terms.

Past President Don Duvall of Carmi was recognized with the organization’s Distinguished Service Award. Duvall served 27 years on the White CFB Board of Directors as well as held leadership posts in the Illinois Corn Marketing Board and U.S. Grains Council.

Carmi Mayor Jeff Pollard gave the keynote address. Pollard provided an update on the economic development and infrastructure improvements for the city.

Matt Rhinehart of Crossville won the AITC trivia. $435 was raised from the dessert auction to support AITC. Lunch and door prizes concluded the annual meeting.
