Wabash Christian Therapy and Medical Clinic are once again pre-screening local high school athletes to help manage concussions! The screenings will be held the week of August 21st at Wabash Christian Therapy on Oak Street.
We use an advanced technology Biodex Balance Assessment, which adds the objective, neurophysical component for the management of concussion. The benefit is that clinicians are able to quantify the elements of balance – before and after an injury occurs. A decreased ability to maintain balance is one of the hallmark signs of concussion.
The objective data gathered by our clinic provides a detailed summary and progress report to track recovery of injured athletes and provide the medical team with quantitative data to help with the return-to-play decision. This service is offered at no cost to our local high school athletes by Wabash Christian Therapy and Medical Clinic.
We are happy to help protect our community youth by preventing long term damaging effects of undiagnosed and untreated concussion.
