2018 Deer Harvest Numbers Reported
Hunters in Illinois harvested a preliminary total of 151,577 deer during all of the 2018-2019 archery and firearm seasons, which concluded on Jan. 20.
Hunters took about 45 percent does and 55 percent males during this past whitetail deer season.
Archery hunters took a preliminary total of 61,079 deer during the archery season, which ran from Oct. 1, 2018 to Jan. 20, 2019. Firearm hunters took a preliminary total of 80,896 deer during the season.
Youth hunters harvested a total of 1,650 deer during the three day youth season, and muzzleloaders harvested 3,863 deer during the muzzleloader only season.
White County bow hunters harvested 492 deer, while shotgun hunters took 772 deer this past season.
Wayne County bowhunters took 852 deer, while gun hunters took 1,479 deer in Wayne County.
Saline county shotgun hunters harvested 945 white tails, while archery hunters took 569 deer.
Pope County hunters took 861 deer by bow and 1,438 by shotgun.
