Lady Bulldog Season Closes
Edwards County not only ended the season for the Carmi White County Bulldog baseball team, but Thursday afternoon, The Lady Lions of Edwards County ended the season for the Lady Bulldogs who lost in softball action 7 to 2.
It was a bittersweet loss as several of the Lady Bulldogs are seniors and yesterday’s game was the last of their high school career. However, at least two of the Lady Bulldogs will continue their softball careers in college.
Thursday’s game was broadcast on our sister staton; WRUL 97.3 FM. Jason Craig and Chris Leuke had the game covered.
While the high school ball season has closed, the Legion Baseball team is just about ready to hit the diamond.
The first Legion ball game will be Wednesday, May 29 at McLeansboro. The Legion team will play Fairfield, there, on Sunday June 2 and travel to Mt. Vernon, Indiana on Tuesday, June 4. The first home game for the Legion team will be Wednesday, June 5 as the locals host Evansville Pate.
Carmi wraps that week up on the road with games against Princeton, Ind., on Friday and Harrisburg on Sunday, June 9.
