Apr. 10 – 12-1 p.m. – SIC’s Bring Your Own Book Group will meet in the Learning Commons. This group is open to all students and SIC employees who enjoy reading. Come discuss your current reads, share recommendations, and make connections. Email [email protected] for more information.

Arp. 10 – 4-6 p.m. – SIC Student Government is hosting a Pasta Night Fundraiser to raise funds for the Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois in the Harry L. Crisp Student Center. Chef Michael Intravaia will prepare a delicious pasta meal served with salad, dessert and a drink. Dine-in and take-out options are available. Tickets are $20 per person. All proceeds will help send a veteran and their guardian to Washington, D.C. this fall as part of the Veterans Honor Flight. Apr. 13 – 2 p.m. – The SIC Cultural Arts Series presents its Courtney Cox and the Little Big Band in Concert in the George T. Dennis Visual & Performing Arts Center Lobby. Tickets ($10 adults and $5 students) will be available at the door. For more information, visit sic.edu/CAS.
Apr. 15 – 6 p.m. –The SIC Board of Trustees meeting will be held in the Rodney J. Brenner Board Room.
Apr. 16 – 9 a.m.-12 p.m. – Southeastern Illinois College in partnership with Illinois Department of Employment Services will host its annual Job Fair in the Joseph Deaton Gymnasium. Free admission. Bring resumes and be dressed to interview with potential employers. Apr. 26 – 8 a.m.-5 p.m. – The ServSafe Food Manager Course for food service sanitation certification or recertification will be held on SIC’s Harrisburg campus in room G116. This course is completed in one day. The in-district cost is $121 and includes the exam given during the class. To register, call (618) 252-5400 ext. 4120.
Apr. 28 – The last day to withdraw from 16-week spring classes with no refund and a W grade on transcripts from spring semester courses. After April 22, students cannot withdraw from any 16-week courses and will receive a final grade.
Apr. 29 – The SIC Community Chorus presents “An Evening with Rodgers and Hammerstein” in the George T. Dennis Visual and Performing Arts Center Lobby. Enjoy songs from some of the best-loved musicals from the Golden Age of musical theatre! The chorus is under the direction of Tim Green and accompanied by Kathy Hanrahan. This event is free to the public.
Apr. 30 – 1-4 p.m. – SIC’s Carmi Center will host a Bob Ross-inspired painting class under the guidance of instructor, Bradley Mullings. You’ll learn new techniques and take home your work the same day. No experience required. This class is perfect for beginners aged 18 and up. Space is limited. Register in person at SIC’s Carmi Center. $15 for the class plus $40 for your supplies directly to the instructor.
