Interested Candidates Pick Up Petitions
This week was the first day to pick up petitions for municipal, township and school board elections set for April 2.
Locally, Barbara Mitchell picked up a petition for Carmi White County School Board. Her term ,along with Any Accord, Brent Hammel and Tom Scates, expire this term.
Picking up petitions for the Carmi elections are incumbents Jeremy Courson of Ward 1; Mike Knight of Ward Two, and Mark Blake of Ward 3. Lancy Yearby also picked up his petition for Ward Four.
Picking up a petition for Ward 3 was Virgil Clark, setting up a potential race with Mark Blake.
The spring elections will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2019.
